No, the directory where you run the svn command should not matter. Sorry, no idea what went wrong. If the list command succeeds, you should be able to accept the certificate.

Well, it does not work for me. The normal svn command did not prompt me for certificate validation, but when I launched svnX, the error message window popped up. Do I have to run the svn command in a particular directory?
